FREE LOW ENERGY LIGHT BULBS (POSTED 2/7/04)

Elderly and vulnerable people in Galmpton can obtain free low energy light bulbs from the Police. Devon and Cornwall Constabulary along with SWEB has acquired 2,300 bulbs to upgrade security in the home.

Energy saving light bulbs are available as direct replacements for incandescent light bulbs.  They use 80% less electricity than normal and therefore can be left on when you go on holiday or go away to give people the impression that somebody is home.

To obtain your free energy saving light bulbs contact Devon and Cornwall Constabulary or ask at the next Police Surgery (See above)

Click here for Herald Express news article on 1st July 2004 covering the free low energy light bulbs.

SWEB energy also operate a doorstep security password scheme to reduce the risk of bogus callers. Telephone 0800 3289010 for more details
